Reggae Concert Supports Whakaari Fund

Entertainer David Grace certainly had the crowd moving and grooving to his unique reggae sounds recently, at Taiwhakaea Marae, near Whakatane.

Patrons attending were made aware of the intention concert organisers had, to support the whanau of victims and first responders of the pyroclastic explosion that wrecked havoc , not only on the island, but also in the lives of all of those involved on December 9th 2019.

The generosity and open hearts of those present at the concert, has meant a significant koha / donation to the fund, set up to assist in the medium to long term for the rehabilitation phase of New Zealand based burns victims and the ongoing counselling for those who have lost loved ones, or were caught up in the immediate aftermath, as a volunteer, professional, medical or transport responder.

Our thanks go out to both David Grace and his organiser Te iki Pouwhare, for not only providing a fitting tribute concert, but for urging those present to share in the purpose.
