General Fund

General Fund

Donors looking for a positive place to leave funds to benefit the community, need to look no further than our General Fund.

Gifts given to this fund are 'untagged', which means they are considered in the annual application / granting process by the team who look after grants.

'Tagged' funds are gifted to the charities or causes of the donors choosing at the time of making the gift.

In any one year the range of applications will vary widely according to community needs and aspirations.

Giving to the General Fund, allows the gift to be more flexible, now and in the future as the needs in the region change.

Not every donor wants or needs their 'name in lights' and they are happy to leave a gift that they know a trusted group of people will apply to the right cause, at the right time.

Consider a living gift now, that attracts a 33% tax rebate or as a gift in your will to the General Fund.

News About the General Fund

Waterwheel Historic Trust
The smiles were wide on Saturday 27th January 2024, among the long serving, stalwart volunteers, who assembled to finally and officially bless and open the new home of the Waterwheel Historic Trust, just off State Highway 30, on the Kawerau Road. Now to be known as the Waterwheel Heritage Park. After many obstacles, including the extremely wet winter and spring of 2022, summer and autumn of 2023, and the ever-changing requirements of local government compliance, the doors were firmly flung OPEN! A well displayed range of early equipment and articles were able to be viewed and admired by those present.
Careful planning at this time of year is essential to capture the needs of our communities - the seasons determine the ebbs and flows of work demands on our farmers, horticulturists, fishermen- even the school terms are set to provide education in bite-sized chunks with a few breaks along the way. We aim to ensure any events we host are at the most convenient times to allow our community members to fully participate. We invite you, our readers to come along on this journey with us, in 2024.
