The Lions Past District Governor 202L Jim Towersey QSM Endowment Fund has been established and seeded by Jim's late wife Robyn Towersey QSM to honour her late husband Jim, a prominent and passionate musician in Opotiki and the wider Eastern Bay, and to champion and share his volunteering work in the district through Lions International. Creating magical moments with music gave Jim, the most joy. 

This fund will provide an annual distribution to the music department of Opotiki College primarily to provide access to musical tuition and accomplishment for students at Opotiki College.  This will allow students attending Opotiki College to participate fully in musical learning opportunities and could cover tuition fees, purchase or hire of instruments, attendance at external musical workshops, and to enhance and encourage excellence in musical understanding and performance.

Further donations to this fund to increase the capacity and to enable more students at the college to participate in a musical education are welcomed.

Robyn and Jim Towersey's generous legacy to the Opotiki Community reflect their ethos of lending a helping hand to others in need.
