Whakatane High School Alumni Fund

Whakatane High School Alumni Fund

Former Whakatane High School students are keen to ensure that every student attending the school is able to access a fully rounded education in order to achieve their full potential and to be able to participate fully in all curricular and extra-curricular activities offered by the school.

This fund was born from the suggestion of a former student to enable all in the WHS community the opportunity to give back, and to 'pay it forward' for the current and future generations of WHS students.

There remain inequities within our communities that prevent some students participating fully in all educational activities offered through Whakatane High School, which in turn limits their vocational opportunities upon leaving school to achieve their dreams and contribute back to our community in a meaningful way.  This endowment fund is all about filling the gaps, to enable all students to achieve their potential.

This fund invites donations from local residents, former students, teachers and parents to grow the fund, in order to provide support where it is most needed to students within the school. Find out more about the Whakatane High School Alumni.

The school centenary, originally set down for Easter 2020, now delayed a year, due to the Covid -19 Pandemic, will see a drive to gain greater support for this fund to make a significant difference to the caring-culture of the school.

This fund will also accept 'tagged' donations for specific purposes within the school. Contact EBCF for more information in this regard.
