Applications are now being considered for projects that will advance the well being, safety and security of the residents of the Opotiki District, thanks to the generosity of local kiwi fruit growers who have voluntarily contributed to a fund for the betterment of the district. 

The key focus of the fund in 2020 is to support a project or projects that provide an intervention or opportunity to  'break the cycle'. Research has been undertaken by the donor/trustee panel to understand better what the main issues are that the region is facing socially, in order to make the best decisions possible. 

Applications that show the best potential in meeting the core focus of this fund will be further invited to present their projects to the Opotiki based panel. 

A portion of the fund has been set aside to support small grants of less that $2,000 and applications for these funds will be considered throughout the year as funds permit.
