The partners of the Womens Impact Fund, voted in November 2023 to support the RDA project to have suitable on-site facilities for the riders who attend the arena in Awatapu Drive. Often these children and young adults have complex care needs, and this facility will enable them to fully participate in the opportunities offered with the therapy horses. Confidence, deportment and the strengthening of core muscles are at the heart of the philosophy of the Riding for Disabled. Having a fully accessible functioning wet room and toilet facility will be a game changer for these dedicated volunteers and staff to continue with the amazing work they do, ensuring connection can grow and confidence can build within the participants who attend.
