Volunteers: the glue in our communities

This coming week is National Volunteer Week and a time where we as a Community Foundation would like to pause and thank the collective contribution of the wonderful volunteers who make our Eastern Bay region thrive.

This year’s theme is ‘recognise, connect and reimagine’; we recognise those who give up their time and significant expertise for the benefit of our local community, our own Trustees and volunteers who connect people who care with causes that matter and reimagine a future where our community has all the funding it needs, especially for so many of those frontline organisation’s who rely on volunteers.

We want to recognise those whose time and skills go into making our community what it is; from the first responders, fire service to the food banks, animal rescuers to those who care for the salt marsh, clean up our coastlines and protect our native species, those who support families who are bereaved or dealing with dementia, those who quietly sit at home and knit for premature babies and those who look after children with special needs…there are so many who put their hands up, to help out.  Generosity of time, generosity of spirit and those who make a committment to generously support the many voluntary causes in our communities financially. We salute you all.

THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers and to those who gift their time to make our place a better place, dedicated to helping us build our local communities. We truly appreciate the skills, energy and care you give so generously.
